Cosmetic Dentistry: Create Your Ideal Smile

Even if you have a healthy smile, cosmetic imperfections such as discoloration or chips can make you feel self-conscious when you talk, laugh, or pose for pictures. Dr. Gregory S. Strain has been treating the general and cosmetic needs of his patients for over 30 years. He can help you choose which cosmetic dentistry treatments are right for you during a consultation at his office in Metairie, LA. He uses advanced technology including our E4D computer-aided design and manufacturing system to provide fast, lifelike results.

Having greater confidence in your smile can help you take greater confidence in yourself as a whole.

Do You Have a Crooked or Misaligned Bite?

Crooked or crowded teeth cannot only make you feel self-conscious: they can also put your health at risk. Because crooked teeth are harder to brush and floss properly, they can leave you much more vulnerable to cavities. If you have misaligned teeth, we recommend beginning your cosmetic treatment with orthodontics. We offer several options including traditional braces and Invisalign® or ClearCorrect® for patients who want a more discreet option.

Once you complete your treatment, you can enhance your results with follow-up cosmetic treatments.

Yellowed or Stained Teeth?

Even if you practice good oral hygiene, natural aging and certain foods can cause stubborn stains to form on the surface of your teeth. Professional teeth whitening is a quick way and effective way to whiten your smile by several shades in just one appointment. Dr. Strain offers Philip Zoom whitening, which can whiten your smile up to eight shades in only 45 minutes. He also offers take-home options for patients who would rather whiten their smiles at home.

If you have intrinsic stains that have reached the dentin below your enamel, dental bonding or porcelain veneers may be a better treatment option for you.

Chips, Cracks, or Gaps?

Chips, cracks, or minor gaps can disrupt the symmetry and balance of your smile. In most cases, these cosmetic concerns can be seamlessly concealed with dental bonding or porcelain veneers. Thanks to our E4D technology, we can complete both bonding and veneers in a single appointment.

In addition to achieving extremely lifelike results, patients who choose veneers also qualify for free teeth whitening.

[Cosmetic treatments] are typically not covered by insurance. However, we accept CareCredit® financing to help you achieve the smile of your dreams.

Embarrassed about a "Gummy" Smile?

A balanced gum-to-tooth ratio is an essential part of a symmetrical smile. Gums that extend below your lips could make your smile look "gummy" and make your teeth look smaller than they actually are. Dr. Strain can gently and conservatively remove small amounts of gum tissue to create a more pleasing gum line.

Suffering from Multiple Issues?

Many patients have discolored, cracked, chipped, gapped, and crooked teeth and do not know where to even start enhancing their smiles. For these patients, we can design a customized smile makeover.

Dr. Strain understands how intimidating it can be to redesign your whole smile from start to finish. For patients receiving an extensive makeover, he can provide wax-ups that you can wear home or in our office. These wax-ups let you "try-on" your results and can help you feel confident and excited about your treatment.
